Reflections - a self portrait

Some really interesting use of symbolism... Then again, it may not have meant anything to you at the time, but given the nature of this picture... Why exactly did you choose to depict an American flag over your mouth? "Choked" or "held down" by society? Or is what you say being warped by the society around you? Or maybe it's just a sign that you're American?? *laughs* I don't know. What about the cross? A simple symbol of your belief system, or is it a little more? Anyways, I really love pieces like this. You did a great job on the crackling/spiderweb - that combined with the colour scheme it kind of reminds me of a crumbling Renaissance mural (although the subject and style differs much ). Did you use a special brush to do them, or just your regular round brush in PS? *doesn't know how to use special brushes, for the most part* X_X Hehe, anyways, really great, really expressive piece.
